Public Address System (PA system) is an electronic system comprising microphones, amplifiers, loudspeakers, and related equipment. It increases the apparent volume (loudness) of a human voice, musical instrument, or other acoustic sound source or recorded sound or music. PA systems are used in any public venue that requires that an announcer, performer, etc. be sufficiently audible at a distance or over a large area. Typical applications include sports stadiums, public transportation vehicles and facilities, and live or recorded music venues and events. A PA system may include multiple microphones or other sound sources, a mixing console to combine and modify multiple sources, and multiple amplifiers and loudspeakers for louder volume or wider distribution.

Public Address System

Simple PA systems are often used in small venues such as school ,college, University auditoriums, Garments Factory and Hospital also. PA systems with many speakers are widely used to make announcements in public, institutional and commercial buildings and locations—such as schools, stadiums, and passenger vessels and aircraft. Intercom systems, installed in many buildings, have both speakers throughout a building, and microphones in many rooms so occupants can respond to announcements.

Amplifiers

Amplifier is a device for increasing the power of a signal by use of an external energy source. In an electronic amplifier, the input “signal” is usually a voltage or a current. Other types exist a fluidic amplifier increases the power of signals represented as flow of gas or liquid, for example. Amplifiers may be classified in a variety of ways depending on their application, the frequency range they cover, or the active devices used. Ideally an amplifier increases the power of a signal without otherwise altering it; practical amplifiers have finite distortion and noise which they invariably add to the signal.

Volume Controls & Selectors

IP Public Address System

Transmission of Audio Paging and Controls via TCP/IP using LAN / Internet, in which :

–   Audio includes Voice or Music with format such as ADPCM, MP3, WAV   etc

–   Controls include RS485 data or any other approriate data

Advantages

1.Able to link large systems in a single network.

2. Expandable for future expansions

3. Less cabling as compared to conventional system for system interlink . Lower cost for large distributed system.

4.Long distance voltage drop ( cabling loss ) avoided.

5. Allows bidirectional paging and controls

6. Allows bidirectional paging and controls

7. Wireless connectivity solutions

Disadvantages

1.Latency – Small latency as compared to direct connection from audio output

2.Network Crash – Possible network crash if using existing LAN and other difficulty in managed network system such as firewall settings.

3.Cost Matter – It is more costly for smaller system with single rack as compared to larger distributed systems

What Unicode Technology Offer

  1. Conversion of existing analogue / digital system into IP at a fraction of cost without much change to the setup.
  2. Less proprierty equipment, SDK available for external interface.
  3. Communication breakdown in LAN would not affect local operation.
  4. Modular only install related equipment according to requirement.
